What makes a good reference photo?
Please read The Pawfect Reference Photo for some helpful advice
Can I send you multiple Reference Photos?
If you have read The Pawfect Reference Photo and still feel it necessary to send multiple reference photos for me to choose from, please first consider my Reference Photo Service if you are a local. Otherwise please keep it to a limit of three and bear in mind this will slow down the process.
What background options are there?
Typically, I the artist create a complementary background and you may enjoy the excitement and anticipation of unpacking your portrait when it arrives and seeing it for the first time in real life. If you have a background in mind please make sure to state so in your Pawtrait Order Form under custom requests and be aware that additional fees may apply depending on the complexity of the request.
What size are the portraits when printed?
The prints are painted for A4 dimensions unless otherwise requested in your Pawtrait Order Form under custom requests.
How long will it take?
The entire process takes approximately three weeks. Two weeks for the painting and a week to allow for processing, printing and delivery.
Lets break that down: once you've completed your Pawtrait Order Form and paid your £30 deposit, we need to arrange reference photo(s) and payment of the final balance. Once the full balance has been received the Pawtrait Process will take up to 2 weeks: I will be sketching away and working on getting your masterpiece completed and sent to print. Once printed, I will send for delivery or prepare for our arranged collection. In the case of delivery please bear in mind the timing is subject to Royal Mail's delivery times.
Do you do refunds
No, simply because for each portrait I pour in hours and hours (a minimum of 8 hours) into studying the reference, sketching the subject, digitally drawing and painting the fur and even more hours finessing the whole piece as well as the time taken to arrange the order. Please take a good look at the gallery to make sure you like my work, a lot of love goes into each piece.
If you want to review your portrait before it goes to print or have any other custom requests please state these clearly in your Pawtrait Order Form and photo reference email. Additional fees may apply depending on the complexity of the custom request or for multiple revision requests.
I have a custom request
Please state your request clearly in your Pawtrait Order Form and photo reference email. Additional fees may apply depending on the complexity of the request. For example, if you wish to specify a background, have myself source a frame, put a rush on your order or request a partial or full body as opposed to a head portrait these are requests that will require extra hours of work and will incur an additional charge which I will calculate on a case by case basis.
I am local, do I need to pay for delivery?
If you are local to the south side of Tooting Common or I am in walking distance to your address please let me know in your Pawtrait Order Form and photo reference email and we can arrange an in person delivery
Do you do discounts for multiple pets
Unfortunately I cannot offer discounts for multiple pets even if you want them incorporated into the same print as the time spent painting them will be the same as painting separate orders. However
keep an eye out for special offers and discounts, as a second pet discount may become available in the future for a limited time.
Will my portrait be online?
All portraits will be displayed in the online website gallery as part of my portfolio of work. Unless you’ve stated at the point of order on your Pawtrait Order Form under custom requests will be used for promoting Tooting Snoots on social media.
Can I just use ai to copy your style?
This is an unethical practice and would be art theft. No one has my consent to use my artwork to train AI or to create images via an AI tool.
Why are you more expensive than portraits on fiver and Etsy?
I am hand drawing/painting my portraits using my iPad and iPad pen; spending a minimum of 8 hours on each piece of work. The cheaper options you find online are often a more simple style that takes much less time to draw or they are using software and apps to edit your photo for most or all of the process and are often not artistically creating a portrait for you but are simply generating or applying a filter or effect on top of your photo.
